Unlike the vast majority of other equestrian statues in Washington, Wesley's is smaller than life size. The nearby bench in this photo gives you an idea of the size. Another smaller than life size equestrian statue in Washington is that of Simon Bolivar behind the Organization of American States building.

John Wesley, founder under God of Worlld Methodism, being an exact copy of the statue standing in the forecourt of Wesley's Chapel, Bristol, England. Presented by the Right Hon. The Lord Rank on Behalf of the Methodist Church Great Britain, to the Wesley Theological Seminary, in token of the friendship between the two nations and in acknowledgement of the words of John Wesley, "The Methodists are one people in all the world."
