Notice the racing numbers & medals. These pictures were taken the afternoon after the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. The opening ceremony for that race was unforgetable. The speaker (to whom few were listening) asked for 168 (the number of dead) seconds of silence. In the blink of an eye 20,000 people went dead still & stayed so for nearly 3 full minutes. You could hear birds singing. It was certainly the most moving experience of my 16 marathons & high on my lifetime list.
