Here's sculptor Pam Foss with the relief she was commissioned to do for the Penn Monroe Building. Here's what Pam has to say ...
I have attached pictures of the bronze relief I did for the Monroe Building. I was commissioned to do this piece in 1990 by Jim Farr, President of the Farr Companies in Washington, DC. The sculpture was completed and installed in 1991. The approximate measurements on the piece are 5' high by 15' wide by 4' deep. The sculpture was cast by New Arts Foundry in Baltimore.
I enjoyed creating this piece a great deal as it involved doing a considerable amount of fascinating research on what Washington looked like in its early days and what life was like for its residents at the time.
