The artist Frederick Charles Shrady was the son of Henry Merwin Shrady, the creator of the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial. The Grant Memorial, one of the most important sculptures in all of D.C., is covered extensively at our sister website (formerly HenryMerwinShrady.com, but subsequently 'hi-jacked').
