The entire US Grant memorial with the Washington monument in the background at sunrise. The Lincoln memorial (mostly the north part) is also visible in the distance. The reflecting pool which was installed in 1970 can be seen on the opposite side of Grant. When the mall was designed the intention was that it would be terminated on its west & east ends by monuments to the wartime president (Lincoln) and his general (Grant).
